CHB Budget Services is a non-profit community organisation operating since 1983. We offer free specialist one to one budgeting and financial guidance from our qualified team of Financial Mentors.
We have a specialist Community Educator who can tailor financial literacy workshops to your group’s specific needs. We enjoy working with a multitude of different community groups including local social services, schools & youth programme coordinators, elderly service providers, and local businesses.
We appreciate that we are all unique and so we follow a strengths-based approach that is specific to your own situation. We value your independence and privacy.

During your free one-on-one consultation our qualified Financial Mentors will guide you through your financial situation. You can expect an informed, non-judgmental approach to resolve any financial struggles, or help you plan for your future and the future of your whānau.
A budget needs to give freedom not restraints, which is why we work together to make a balanced budget. Our Financial mentors are here to help and guide you to set and run your own budget, and give you the tools to make it fit going forward.
It is better to ask for help before the issues snowball out of control.
There are so many options for debt, whether it is a personal loan, car loan, credit card or buy now, pay later. We are there to guide and educate you on what to look for in lending contracts also to help if there has been a change in your financial position and you need to apply for hardship under your loan or discuss other options to manage your debt.

Carmel has been with CHB Budget Services since it originated. In this time she was National President of the NZ Federation of Family Budgeting Services and she is involved in many local charitabe committees. Carmel brings a wealth of knowledge to her clients and their families that is hard to match.
Leanne Goodger
Financial Mentor
Leanne has been a Financial Mentor with CHB Budget Services for 16 years. She is approachable and a great listener - there is no story too long or short! Leanne is a fierce advocate for her clients and will always try to get the best outcome for them from any situation.
Hayden McLean
Financial Mentor/ Community Educator
A qualified Financial Mentor and Financial Mentor Supervisor, Hayden has held senior positions in Wealth, Banking and Investments in New Zealand and Australia. Hayden brings a wealth of knowledge to help clients achieve their goals in a personal and approachable manner. He also has a passion for education and will be out and about taking Financial Literacy Workshops.
